Held online on November 12th, 2022, the IB Dunia Teachers' Conference was open to IB educators and included a mix of keynote & plenary sessions and a choice of over 50 workshops, designed to educate, inform and provide educators with an opportunity to connect, collaborate, network, learn and share with each other.
In the IB Dunia Teachers' Conference, educators networked and shared best practices with one another. The conference was facilitated by experienced coordinators, workshop leaders, school heads, IB Practitioners and educators.
The Conference included a wide variety of session formats and learning experiences led by experts in the topic with intended takeaways for the participants, plus plenty of scheduled time for formal and informal networking.
With over 1200+ attendees present from different schools across Indonesia, it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, and to connect with some school leaders and educators for the first time.
All workshop attendees received a joint Certificate of Participation from the IB Dunia Network & Classcipe which demonstrated their ongoing Professional Development in International Education.

The session focused on how SEL skills are perfectly aligned with some ATL Skill categories. We just need to know how to design our instructional strategies so that we're able to teach SEL through ATL.

Glimpse of a few Sessions
The session focused on the practical step-by-step guidance for successfully implementing visible learning and visible teaching in the classrooms, including - lesson preparation, interpreting learning, and feedback during the lesson and post-lesson follow-up.
The session focused on various teaching & learning strategies to teach mathematical concepts by creating cultures of thinking with ATL skills. Teachers engaged the learners in the MYP and DP classroom to develop skills to connect the concepts with big ideas.
The session focused on how CAS experiences can gain more understanding about Indonesian A and B subjects and vice versa.
Picture books are chosen as they expose the social condition and context from different cultural perspectives. The main question that was discussed in the session was to what extent picture books could build young learners' social context literacy.
Librarians who join in any pathways in IB have valued advantages and strength. The session focused on do's and don'ts, the special skills we need to have to support each pathway. Even if one is a single librarian in their school, it was discussed how to successfully support classes on a daily basis.
CBCI is all about developing the students ability to think well. The workshop aimed to explore some of the tenets of concept-based teaching and learning. Participants left with an understanding of the contrasts between traditional models, which can be more surface level, to that of CBCI which has a stronger emphasis on concepts, generalizations, and knowledge transfer.
